The tiger is the largest cat species, with its most commonly recognized for their pattern of vertical stripes on reddish orange fur. Chinese myth includes the tiger as one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. In Imperial China, the tiger also represented the highest ranking army general as it was considered the personification of war while the dragon and phoenix represented the emperor and empress, respectively.
Cut from cherry and finished with Tung oil and walnut Danish oil to create a two-toned effect. This puzzle comes from an original design with 16 pieces measuring approximately 4 inches tall x 9 inches wide. All puzzles are hand carved on a scroll saw. As a result, each piece is unique so the color and wood-grain will vary from puzzle to puzzle.
